When planning a return journey from Slovenia to Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Croatia or Serbia, the City Star International Pass offers value for money to both solo passengers and groups of up to 5 people.
- One passenger pays the full ticket price.
- For journeys to Serbia, children aged 6 to 12 receive a 75% discount.
- For journeys to Croatia, children under 6 years of age and children aged 6 to 15 years accompanied by an adult fare-paying passenger (either parents or grandparents) travel free of charge.
Passes for travel from Slovenia to Germany, Austria, Czech Republic or Slovakia are issued for single or return journeys in First or Standard Class and available to solo passengers, groups of 2 to 5 people, children aged 6 to 15, and animal companions (dogs).
The fares are subject to a flat-rate/zone-based pricing system – the amount is calculated either as a flat rate or by kilometre zone, with children aged 6 to 15 receiving a 50% discount on the adult fare while dogs get 50% off the Standard Class adult fare regardless of the travel class of the adult fare-paying passenger.
The fare total is a combination of all fares charged by the train operating companies participating in the journey concerned.
There are two different levels of fares available – Level 1 comprises seats available at low fares while Level 2 includes seats in the higher fare category.
The number of City Star Passes available for travel from Slovenia to Germany, Austria, Czech Republic or Slovakia is limited. Passes are valid for 1 month, and apply to travel at any day of the week. Cross-border passes are limited to journeys made on the same day as the date shown on your pass and to the train for which a seat reservation was made free of charge.
If no seat reservation can be made, the City Star Pass will be unavailable for purchase.
