City Star

When planning a return journey from Slovenia to Croatia, Serbia* and North Macedonia*, the City Star ticket offers value for money to both solo passengers and groups of up to 5 people.

Groups of up to 5 passengers travelling together to Serbia and Croatia get the following discounts:

  • One passenger pays the full ticket price.
  • For journeys to Serbia, children aged 6 to 12 receive a 75% discount.
  • For journeys to Croatia, children under 6 years of age and children aged 6 to 15 years accompanied by an adult fare-paying passenger (either parents or grandparents) travel free of charge.

Passes purchased under the City Star promotion for return journeys to Serbia or Croatia are valid for one month and apply to travel on any day of the week with no time restrictions.

The fares are subject to a flat-rate/zone-based pricing system – the amount is calculated either as a flat rate or by kilometre zone, with children aged 6 to 15 receiving a 50% discount on the adult fare while dogs get 50% off the Standard Class adult fare regardless of the travel class of the adult fare-paying passenger. The fare total is a combination of all fares charged by the train operating companies participating in the journey concerned.

There are two different levels of fares available – Level 1 comprises seats available at low fares while Level 2 includes seats in the higher fare category.

*Due to interruption of railway traffic, it is currently not possible to purchase City Star tickets for travel to Serbia and/or North Macedonia.
