On 6 November, the Slovenian Government adopted new measures provided for in the Ordinance on temporary measures for the prevention and control of infections with the infectious disease COVID-19. Train passengers in domestic and international transport as well as in transit are still obliged to meet the PCT (recovered-vaccinated-tested) requirement. The PCT requirement does not apply to children under 12, pupils and high-school students.
The use of a protective surgical mask or a FFP2 mask, hand disinfection and physical distancing are mandatory for all passengers.
The recovered/vaccinated/tested rule is deemed to be complied with if the person presents a valid identity document and proof of recovery, vaccination or testing.

Replacement bus services between Trieste and Villa Opicina

As we were informed by Trenitalia, the Italian national train operator, the railway line between Villa Opicina and Trieste Centrale will be closed due to construction work from 8 July to 31 August.

 Trains no. 1824 and 1896, running between Ljubljana and Udine/Trieste, departing from Ljubljana at 6.00 and at 18.55, respectively, will only be running to Trieste. Between Villa Opicina and Trieste, regular bus services are operating (there will be no rail replacement bus service). 

For trains no. 1825 and 1897, running between Trieste/Udine and Ljubljana, departing from Trieste at 9.03 and from Udine at 17.55, respectively, rail replacement bus services will be provided between Trieste and Villa Opicina.
