From 11 June 2021, there is a new direct connection from Vienna via Ljubljana to Trieste and back by Eurocity train, available to passengers every day.
The line can be also used as a starting point for connecting journeys. From Trieste, passengers can continue their travel with Freccarossa high-speed trains in the direction of Venice, Padua, Milan, Turin, Bologna, Florence and Rome, and from Vienna, passengers can travel to Prague, Bratislava, Krakow, Warsaw and other destinations.

Favourable ticket prices
A wide range of favourable price offers is available for travel from Slovenia to Trieste.
With low-price offers, passengers from Maribor, Pragersko, Celje, Laško, Zidani Most, Trbovlje or Zagorje can travel to Trieste from €14.30, passengers from Ljubljana or Logatec from €9.50, and those traveling from Postojna, Pivka, Divača or Sežana, for as little as €4.90. The above mentioned prices are the most favourable prices of one-way tickets for one person in the 2nd class. Ticket prices also include seat reservations.
Travel to Austria is also very affordable. Passengers from Ljubljana or Celje can travel to Vienna from €29.00, and passengers from Maribor from €26.90. We would also like to point out the affordable trips to Graz: from Ljubljana to Graz for as little as €16.90, from Celje to Graz for €12.90, and from Maribor to Graz for only €8.90.
