In accordance with the decision of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia, train passengers are obliged to meet the PCT (recovered-vaccinated-tested) requirement. The PCT requirement does not apply to children under 15, pupils and high-school students.

The use of a protective mask, hand disinfection and physical distancing remain mandatory for all passengers.

Passengers on board the train demonstrate compliance with the PCT requirement with proof of vaccination, negative test, or recovery from COVID-19.

Across Europe by train

Next to the options available from our list of international destinations (i.e. Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Italy, Hungary, and Croatia), you can also travel to other places in Europe. To plan out your route and calculate the costs of your journey, you can use the international journey planner or Google Transit.

Buy in Slovenia

Tickets for international journeys to any European country can be purchased at our international ticket offices up to two months in advance. When only a part of your journey will be by train, it is a good idea to buy or book tickets for foreign train services – be it local, high-speed (e.g. Thalys, TGV or ICE) or sleeper trains – at our sales outlets so you don’t get caught out by any surprises.

However, if you plan to discover a particular country or several countries, we recommend buying an Interrail One Country Pass, which is valid for travel on rail networks in your selected country, or an Interrail Global Pass, which is valid for travel on all participating European train networks. You can read more about Interrail ticket offers and fares here.
