Penalty fare for purchase of tickets on board trains
If you buy your ticket on board the train when the ticket office at your boarding station is open, a penalty fare must be paid in line with Passenger Tariff ST 700.01. On board the train, ticket purchases can only be made with cash or VALÚ.
If the ticket office at the station is closed at the time of boarding, you can buy a train ticket on board without incurring a penalty fare.
If only a supplement for a higher-type train is purchased, no supplement will be charged for the purchase of the ticket on board the train.
