Can I buy the ticket on-board the train?<\/h5>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<\/i>\n\n<\/div>\n\n

Yes. Tickets for travel in Slovenia can also be purchased on-board. However, if you get on a train without a ticket at a station where ticket facilities are available, you will have to pay a penalty fare of \u20ac12 if asked to do so by the ticket inspector. This does not apply if there was no ticket office at the station at which you began your journey or if the ticket office was closed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are unable to purchase your ticket elsewhere than on board the train, we recommend that you have an amount equal to the ticket price ready to purchase your ticket. In the event when staff are unable to give you the correct amount of change, they will issue a receipt which you can exchange for cash at a train station ticket office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Slovenian Railways train tickets for travel throughout Slovenia can also be purchased online<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong>or in the Grem z vlakom mobile app. The app can be downloaded from Google Play<\/strong><\/a>, <\/strong>App Store<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong>andHuawei AppGallery<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

If you refuse to have your ticket inspected, show invalid tickets, fail to inform the ticket inspector in case you do not have a ticket, or occupy additional seats, you will have to pay the ticket fare for the route concerned together with a penalty fare of \u20ac50.00. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The penalty charge is also applied if a passenger in any way obstructs the work of the ticket inspector.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

If you wish to travel to another country by train, you can purchase a ticket for an international journey at our InfoCentre offices at train stations in Ljubljana, Maribor, Koper and Celje, at any major station with an international ticket office, and at certain third party rail ticket retailers (travel agencies). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unfortunately, low-cost tickets available under the so-called global fare system cannot be returned or changed. <\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

To claim your rights, you must present your ticket for validation at the point where the service disruption or train delay occurred. If you have an e-ticket, you must obtain a train delay note from the train accompanying staff. If there is no ticket office open at the station when the train is stopped, present your ticket to the train accompanying staff for validation before leaving the train to exercise your rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
