What to do if you miss a connection in international transport?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The Agreement on Journey Continuation (AJC) is an agreement between railway undertakings and private railway operators that allows passengers to continue their journey in the event of a train delay and\/or cancellation. The agreement allows passengers to continue their journey from the station where they interrupted their journey to their final destination without having to purchase a new ticket.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The AJC was initiated by the International Rail Transport Committee (CIT) and the Community of European Railway and Infrastructure Companies (CER) and is in force with the following railway undertakings and private railway operators:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If passengers lose the connection to continue their journey due to a delay or cancellation, they must obtain a delay\/cancellation confirmation from the railway staff (at the ticket office or from the train accompanying staff). To obtain a delay\/cancellation confirmation, the original ticket for the train journey must be presented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The formats of the train delay or cancellation confirmation may vary between railway undertakings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Obtaining a train delay or cancellation confirmation allows passengers to continue their journey without additional costs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Passengers may continue their journey by one of the next available trains of the railway undertaking whose service they missed and for which they had a ticket.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
