S\u017d 711 is a class of two-carriages diesel-hydraulic train sets of Slovenske \u017eeleznice.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

This class was manufactured and delivered (ten passenger train sets) in 1970. Since the engines are a product of the MTU factory of the Daimler-Benz concern, the railway workers called them “Mercedes”, and because of the green color scheme, the iconic name “Zeleni vlak” (green train) or nickname “zelenc” (greenie) for short was also established. In recent years, this passenger train set has been known mainly for service on the summer seasonal train on the route Diva\u010da – Pula (Croatia). The last run of this train set on the mentioned route was in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This class was replaced by new passenger multiple units (Stadler Flirt S\u017d 610). Only two passenger trainsets are still “active” (though very rarely), mostly kept in reserve on less busy regional lines. One of these trainsets is designated for a special Wine Train<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bycycle transport<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Although passenger train has space for bicycles, bicycle transport is only allowed on those trains (train number) that are marked with a bicycle pictogram <\/strong>in the timetable search engine<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
