Rail replacement bus services due to the avalanche in Austria (until May 29)

Austrian Railways (ÖBB) sent a notice about the emergency suspension of rail traffic between Leibnitz and Graz due to an avalanche. The closure of the line due to the removal of the consequences of the landslide will last until 29 May 2023.

During the planned closure, an alternative bus service will be organized on the route Spielfeld Strass – Graz Hbf.

Replacement buses will run instead of international trains 150/151 (runs: Ljubljana – Vienna/Wien Hbf – Ljubljana), trains 158/159 (runs: Zagreb Gl.kol – Vienna/Wien Hbf – Zagreb Gl.kol) and train 310/311 (runs: Budapest Keleti – Maribor – Ljubljana – Budapest Keleti).

Substitute bus traffic will also be organized for all local/regional trains on the route Leibnitz – Graz Hbf.

Trains 1152/1153, which run between Bratislava and Split, will run on the bypass route Vienna/Wien Hbf, Villach Hbf, Jesenice, Ljubljana, Dobova during the closure.

In buses, there is no space that allows the transport of wheelchair users, bicycles or animals.
This may extend journey times on the routes affected.
