Group travel

Standard group fare

Groups of at least 6 people receive a 30-50% discount on travel in 1st and 2nd class coaches of all trains.

A group discount applies to one-way or return travel and must be supported by two copies of a written list of passengers requesting discounted travel. The list should be validated by a stamp or signature of the travel organizer (educational institution, association etc.).

Groups of youth

Travelling in a group is more fun and it is cheaper too. A group of 6 or more passengers is entitled to a discount of up to 50 % for travel in 1st or 2nd class coaches in all types of trains.

Discounts

  • passengers under 26: up to 50%*,
  • passengers over 26: up to 30%*.

* off regular fare for travel in the 1st or 2nd class of a local passenger train.

A group discount applies to one-way or return travel and must be supported by a written list of passengers requesting discounted travel (for passengers under 26, birth data are also required).

A notice of travel must state: the stations of departure and destination, the date of travel, the train by which the group intends to travel, stations or stops where the group intends to interrupt the journey, the train and date of continuation of the journey (in case of interruption of the journey) and the number of passengers.

Groups of children

Groups of children aged under 15 receive a 50% discount on travel with 1st and 2nd class carriages on all trains.

A children’s group discount is valid for all 1st and 2nd class trains, except for certain InterCity Slovenia (ICS) trains. Travel with higher-class trains requires payment of a discounted supplement.

6 or more children under 12 years accompanied by a guardian, teacher or mentor qualify for a group travel.

Notice of travel

Groups should report their intended travel at the following e-mail address: [email protected], and consider the following:

  • Groups of 6 to 50 people should report their travel at least 2 working days in advance;
  • Groups of 50 people or more should report their travel at least 8 working days in advance.

If the notice of travel is not made in time, services are provided within the limits of available resources.
