SŽ 813/814 is a class of diesel passanger train set of Slovenske železnice.
This class was produced between 1973 and 1976. The train set consists of a motor unit, designated as 813, and a trailer, designated as 814. They run on Slovenian non-electrified lines, such as Jesenice – Nova Gorica – Sežana, Celje – Velenje, Grobelno – Rogatec, Stranje – Imeno and Maribor – Prevalje.
They were produced by the Italian factory FIAT, which is why the nickname “Fiat” has become popular among railway workers for these passenger train sets.
This class is being replaced by new passenger multiple units (Stadler Flirt SŽ 610), which will gradually replace it in the coming years (2025).
