According to the Slovenian Red Cross, the Red Cross Week will take place from 8 to 15 May 2024. During this period, Slovenian Railways ticket offices are obliged by the Slovenian Red Cross Act (Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia, No. 7/93) to add an extra charge of EUR 0.17 to each ticket sold in domestic and international transport.

The funds collected during the Solidarity Week are channelled into the Slovenian Red Cross Solidarity Fund and are intended to help people in the event of major natural and other disasters or to provide immediate assistance to individuals and families in the event of minor disasters (fires, floods, avalanches, etc.).
